On Friday 16 November over 60 loggers and industry professionals from around New Zealand toured the DC Forestry Equipment plant and viewed first-hand the future of logging as part of the Forest Industry Contractors Association (FICA) Annual General Meeting.
Located in Brightwater DC was part of the day-one schedule for the FICA AGM which also explored Nelson, Riwaka and wider Tasman.
According to FICA’s CEO, Prue Younger, the DC Site visit was a resounding success.
“When we asked for numbers to tour the DC Plant, we were expecting 20-30 but ended up with over 60 people jumping on board. There is huge interest in what DC is doing.
We toured five stations that the team at DC setup, and each station was really informative. It was an interesting tour and I think the people who showed up got a lot out of it”.
FICA’s goal is to bring contractors, service providers, sponsors and members together and to ultimately add value to the forestry industry.
