UC Site Tour

In early April DCE hosted future forest scientists and forestry engineers from the University of Canterbury for a site visit as part of a wider final year field trip they were embarking on in the Tasman region.

The 20-strong student group led by Bruce Manley (head of school, engineering UC), called in to have a look over the premises, equipment that is being manufactured and the mechanical and electrical engineering that sits in behind the products.

Two groups were formed with the first group taking roughly 45mins looking at the detail behind the engineering in DCE’s products, while the second group toured the factory and wider premises.

DCE takes these visits as an opportunity to show future in-the-field engineers the capability of the products being made in-house and how they are world leading.
